I am 33 years old and have been living in Italy for 23 years. Since my arrival in Italy, I have had the pleasure of experiencing some of the great opportunities that this country has to offer, but I have also experienced the great difficulties that foreigners encounter here with bureaucracy, though it has also taught me a lot. In 2010, I opened an office that helps foreigners with bureaucratic procedures and then went on to create the first Albanian association in Varese, which is home to 12.000 Albanians. The scope of the association is to promote social cohesion and integration and through it I have had the chance of meeting foreigners from various ethnicities and cultures, each with their own specific needs but all of them encountering one common “problem”: bureaucracy. I could see myself in them as I too had struggled with the same difficulties in the past and I felt compelled to help them. This is what led to the creation of my app, “Infostranieri”.
