Slawka G. Scarso

Slawka G. Scarso graduated with honours in Economics from LUISS Guido Carli in Rome. She completed her studies as Wine Sommelier and Oil Sommelier with AIS and since 2004 works in the food & wine sector as a marketing and communication consultant and translator.

She published two creative non fiction books titled Il vino a Roma (2010, Castelvecchi) and Il vino in Italia (2011, Castelvecchi), and two handbooks: Marketing del vino (2014, LSWR) and Marketing del gusto (2015, LSWR, with Luciana Squadrilli). She runs a column called Vini&Dintorni featured in Mondadori’s weekly magazine Donna Moderna. She also writes fiction.

Slawka teaches wine marketing and wine and food tourism in post-graduate courses at LUISS Business School in Rome, Università di Salerno, Fondazione Mach and Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa. In 2005 she founded www.marketingdelvino.it, the first blog in Italy dedicated to wine marketing.
